LMKT Signs Agreement for Peshawar National Incubation Center

LMKT, a leading technology service provider in Pakistan participated in the contract signing ceremony of Broadband for Sustainable Development Projects and National Incubation Centers held on June 15, 2017 in Islamabad. LMKT along with its partners including PTCL, Microsoft, IBM and Founder Institute have been awarded the contract for the Peshawar incubation center.

The event organized by the National ICT R&D Fund (Ministry of Information Technology & Telecom) featured LMKT, LUMS and TPL Trakker as successful bid winners for setting up incubation centers in Peshawar, Lahore and Karachi, respectively.

The inauguration was attended by numerous dignitaries and high-level officials from both the government and the corporate sector. Among them was Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the Federal Minister of Finance, who was attending as the honorable chief guest of the occasion. The State Minister of IT & Telecom, Mrs. Anusha Rehman also graced the ceremony as one of the main guests and speakers.

Atif Rais Khan, CEO LMKT on the occasion commended the role of the Ministry of IT & Telecom in recognizing information technology as a significant contributor towards the economy of Pakistan. He applauded the transparent process through which these contracts were awarded and further announced that the upcoming incubation center in Peshawar to be set up by LMKT will be dubbed as ‘Spark’.

The Peshawar NIC will be planned and implemented as a highly advanced facility that will be established and operated for LMKT.

The event was celebrated as an important milestone in the journey towards the realization of a Digital Pakistan and showcased the continued efforts of public and private sectors in establishing Pakistan as an epicenter of technology innovation.
