NIC Peshawar Launching Date Announced at The Startup Cup 2017

Members from the senior management of LMKT including CEO Atif Rais Khan attended the Startup Cup 2017 in Peshawar. The event was organized by TiE and GriffinWorx on October 20 and 21, 2017 at Pearl Continental Hotel, Peshawar. During the two-day event, the LMKT team including Nasir Tanveer, VP Technology Consulting and Haroon Sharif, VP Research & Development interacted with many aspiring entrepreneurs of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and conducted one-to-one mentoring sessions with them.

An important highlight of the event was the formal announcement of the launch date of National Incubation Center (NIC) Peshawar that is being setup by LMKT in partnership with PTCL and funded by Ignite. A booth for the upcoming incubation center was also set up to facilitate prospective candidates and provide information on how to apply. Syed Omar Asad, Head of Operations along with other newly appointed members for NIC Peshawar spoke with entrepreneurs and answered their questions regarding the upcoming space for startups.

Atif Rais Khan CEO, LMKT while addressing the participants said, “I’m really excited to be here with so many passionate entrepreneurs and start-ups hailing from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The energy and enthusiasm that I’ve witnessed here has been tremendous.” He continued, “We are pleased to announce that that we are setting up Peshawar’s very own National Incubation Center which is expected to be fully-operational by the end of December this year.”

Murtaza Zaidi, who’s the force behind TiE Islamabad and founder of a technology company will be leading LMKT’s incubation center in Peshawar. While discussing the start-up ecosystem in Peshawar he said, “Out of all the major cities in Pakistan that have hosted the Startup Cup, the response that we’ve received in Peshawar has been truly inspiring and beyond expectations. He further added, “We can’t wait to see what the talented minds of KP are capable of once they have access to a world-class incubation facility and some of the leading industry names as their mentors.”
